# Hoodies — Crypto-native, Solana-first Product Designers > Crypto-native and Solana-first product designers. We've shipped in the ecosystem since 2020. Solana Explorer is in every Solana developer's daily flow. DoubleZero called our multicast visualization "[the Quentin Tarantino of packets](https://x.com/doublezero/status/2044778825293389859)". You get a senior designer embedded full-time, backed by the team. We weigh in at your standups, shape the spec with engineering, and stay long enough to remember last quarter's decisions. We're technical designers: dev tools, data viz, on-chain flows where async state, regulation, and protocol limits shape the design. AI fluent: [shipped DoubleZero in 1 month](https://hoodies.design/case-studies/doublezero), in code. [High agency](https://hoodies.design/thoughts/high-agency) is how we hire. We're available online and offline. Grab [Sam](https://x.com/samabdcom) for matcha in Berlin, or Alex for qahwa in Dubai. ## Case Studies - **[DoubleZero Multicast Shredstream](https://hoodies.design/case-studies/doublezero)** — DoubleZero is building a dedicated global network that replaces the public internet for blockchains. Trust. Transparency We value teamwork, civility, and respect. We are a team with shared goals. We believe in each other and try to find a common language and agreement. There may be conflict, but we create an atmosphere where we are comfortable confronting disagreement and dealing with it politely. ## Self-improvement. Self-awareness We have a will to improve. We learn from the experiences of others, and we use best practices to progress and achieve even better results. If we make a mistake, we learn from it, so we don't make it again. We reflect, make iterative changes, and encourage the team to do the same. ## Accountability. Proactivity. Initiative These values are tied closely together. We are not afraid to take responsibility for our actions. When we give our word, we keep our word. If we aren't going to meet a deadline, our clients know about our new timeline. If we see that a problem is looming, we don't wait for someone else to solve it. We solve it. If we cannot solve it, we identify the one who can. We don't think "who is at fault", but rather "what can we do to fix or prevent it from happening again?" ## Decisions through discussion We reach decisions by reasoning and discussion. Problems, solutions, and the ways we work together are not decided from the top down. Everyone's voice is heard. ## Attention to detail The details matter. Our attention to detail sets us apart. ## Strategy comes first When solving core business problems for our client, we understand their strategic goals to make tactical decisions. If an existing process is holding our client back from achieving long term goals, we provide thorough feedback and a plan to get them where they want to go. ## Our clients' projects are our projects We pride ourselves in our client's work as we would our own. The solutions we give them are the ones we would use ourselves. ## Our projects bring us joy It's not just work. We do what we love. --- Source: https://hoodies.design/manifesto --- # Book a call — Hoodies > Pick a slot to talk about your project, your stack, and whether we're a fit. Solana is where it starts. Hoodies designed the live multicast dashboard that visualizes how the network propagates Solana shreds globally — and shipped an interactive case study version of that dashboard on hoodies.design. ## What's on the page The case study at https://hoodies.design/case-studies/doublezero is itself an interactive prototype. It mirrors the production dashboard's visual language: a live globe showing validator distribution, a shred propagation pipeline animation, and a multicast distribution loop. Visitors can watch shreds fan out across the network in real time. Live production dashboard: [doublezero.xyz/multicast-dashboard](https://doublezero.xyz/multicast-dashboard). ## What we did - Visualized validator topology and shred propagation in a way non-technical observers can read at a glance. - Designed the information architecture for the multicast dashboard: validation status, shred pipeline, and multicast distribution panes. - Built the interactive case study itself as a working prototype embedded in the design site. ## Working with us - Client: [DoubleZero](https://doublezero.xyz/) (2025–now) - Industries: Crypto infrastructure, Solana ecosystem - Book a call: https://hoodies.design/call --- Source: https://hoodies.design/case-studies/doublezero --- # How We Work with AI AI is not replacing our designers. Our designers are replacing designers who don’t use AI. Every member of our team uses AI daily, not as a gimmick, not as a shortcut, but as a genuine multiplier. We use it to explore more directions faster, to stress-test our assumptions, and to eliminate the tedious parts of the process so we can spend more time on the parts that actually matter. We don’t treat AI as a black box that produces finished work. We treat it as a sparring partner. You sketch an idea, you push it through a model, you look at what comes back, and then you make the real decisions. The taste, the judgment, the understanding of what a user actually needs. That’s still entirely human. In practice, this means we prototype faster, iterate more aggressively, and ship with higher confidence. A direction that used to take a day to explore now takes an hour. That doesn’t mean we work fewer hours. It means we explore five directions instead of one. The teams we work with notice the difference immediately. Not because the output looks AI-generated (it shouldn’t and it doesn’t), but because we move at a pace that used to require twice the headcount. We’re not interested in the AI hype cycle. We’re interested in what actually works. Right now, what works is treating AI as infrastructure: invisible, reliable, and everywhere in our process. --- Source: https://hoodies.design/thoughts/how-we-work-with-ai --- # Good Enough Is a Bad Decision The most expensive design decision a team can make is settling for “good enough.” It feels safe. It feels pragmatic. Ship the thing, move on, we’ll fix it later. But later never comes, and what you actually shipped was a signal (to your users, to your team, to your market) that mediocrity is your standard. We see this constantly in crypto. Teams with ambitious protocols and genuine technical innovation wrapped in interfaces that look like they were built over a weekend. And then they wonder why adoption stalls. Users don’t read your whitepaper. They click your button. If the button feels broken, your protocol feels broken. Good enough accumulates. One compromised screen becomes a compromised flow becomes a compromised product. Every shortcut you take teaches your team that shortcuts are acceptable. Within six months, nobody remembers what the standard was supposed to be. This doesn’t mean every pixel needs to be precious. It means every decision needs to be intentional. There’s a difference between shipping fast because you’ve made clear, confident choices and shipping fast because you’ve stopped caring about the details. The teams that win are the ones where quality is non-negotiable at every level. Not because they’re perfectionists (perfection is its own trap), but because they understand that their product is their reputation, and their reputation is their moat. We don’t do good enough. Not because we’re difficult to work with, but because we’ve seen what good enough costs in the long run. It’s always more expensive than doing it right. --- Source: https://hoodies.design/thoughts/good-enough-is-a-bad-decision --- # High Agency _[Sam](https://samabd.com/) · April 12, 2026_ The single most important quality we look for in a designer is agency. Not skill. Not experience. Not a portfolio full of case studies from brand-name companies. Agency. The ability to see what needs to happen and make it happen without waiting for permission, instruction, or a perfectly scoped ticket. In most teams, design operates downstream. Product defines the problem, engineering defines the constraints, and design fills in the shapes. That model produces mediocre work because it treats designers as executors rather than decision-makers. High-agency designers don’t wait for the brief to be perfect. They read the brief, find the gaps, and fill them. They talk to users when the research is thin. They push back on requirements that don’t make sense. They prototype solutions to problems nobody has formally acknowledged yet. This is especially critical in crypto, where the playbook is still being written. There is no established pattern library for decentralized identity. Nobody has figured out the perfect UX for on-chain governance. The designers who thrive here are the ones who are comfortable operating without a map. We hire for agency because everything else can be taught. You can learn a new tool in a week. You can learn a new design system in a month. But the instinct to take ownership, to treat the product as yours, not just your assignment, that’s either there or it isn’t. Every designer on our team operates like a founder. Not because we ask them to, but because that’s the kind of person who ends up here. --- Source: https://hoodies.design/thoughts/high-agency --- # Mentions — Hoodies > A collection of clients mentioning us or the work we shipped together. ## DoubleZero ([@doublezero](https://x.com/doublezero)) > Quentin Tarantino of packets 🫡 Source: https://x.com/doublezero/status/2044778825293389859 ## Austin Federa | 🇺🇸 ([@Austin_Federa](https://x.com/Austin_Federa)) > We asked the designers at @Hoodies_crypto visualize the volume of packets coming via @doublezero Multicast compared to unicast shred distribution systems.
